This week the remaining 10 X Factor finalists will be singing songs with an ‘American Anthems’ theme, it has been confirmed. Speaking on the official X Factor fan show ‘The F Factor’, vocal coach Yvie Burnett revealed the contestants will be singing huge tracks from the states on Saturday.
Yvie said: “I’m so exicted, American songs by American artists. They’re not going to get away with being mediocre this week, they’re going to have to be outstanding.”
On their song choices for Saturday’s show, Aiden revealed: “This week’s song is going to be a bit more happy. It’s tough, everyone is stepping up their game.”
On her song selection, Cher explained: “It’s going to be hard not be compared to the original artist, I need to sound completely different, it needs to be Cher’s version.”
One Direction revealed that their track was by an artist not well known in the UK, saying the choice meant there was “a lot more pressure” on them this week. Meanwhile Treyc said she’ll be singing a song originally by a male singer while Matt commented: “I just want to do a lot lot better than last week with my song.”
The X Factor returns this Saturday evening on ITV1 and ITV1HD. Shayne Ward and Kylie will be performing on Sunday’s results show.
